Hello,

Can anybody tell me the good vs bad of towing with my '99 Disco II? I have a 16' travel trailer that weighs about 3000lbs loaded up. To be honest I am terrified of transmission issues etc, so I am somewhat reluctant to use it for towing. Here in MI though it is hard not to use it because everywhere worth going is worth having my LR to explore it! Any advice would be much appreciated...

p.s. Discomike, I took your advice on the 245/75/16 tires for my truck and couldn't be happier, they look so much better and I think ride better as well. Thanks

 

Dont worry about it, just run the transmission in 3rd gear and keep your speed no more than 65 and youll be good.
Where are you going camping? Have you been around the military roads in Grayling? In Waters (off I-75) is the Air National Guard Air Gunnery Range and the trail that goes around it is 17.5 miles long and is LOADS of fun. It is a comon place for us to hit.
Oh yeah, if you havent already, replace the double cardon joint with a greasable one.
