Default Transmission and Diifs

Ok few things here for help
for transmission atf is the valvoline max life atf the right one to use?



and for the diffs etc Walmart not a big choice

I use 85/140w in my diff's and TC, but I also live in TX. If I was up north I'd go with 80/90w

some put in a tranny additive like a Lucas etc. I did it on my last change

That's the gear oil I used. People do recommend the Lucas transmission additive, but I think you want Dexron 3, not Dexron 6 for the fluid itself.

Dexron 3 not an easy one to find other than like autozone type brand ?

Dexron 3 isn't a brand, it's the type - the one you sent is Dexron 6 (it says Dexron VI). Think 15W-40 vs 0W-60 - they're just different specifications for the composition of the fluid. D3 is more viscous than D6 - I think they're supposed to be interchangeable but I'd go with the Dexron 3, since it's the original specification and is more viscous (added viscosity is a benefit of also adding a bottle of the Lucas transmission additive).

You should be able to find it in an Autozone or similar.

Red Valvoline High Mileage stuff works great! I've been using it for many many years.

Boston I know it’s a type but when I look up that type local places don’t list name brands just there brand of them.
