TRXUS M/T's & NATO steel wheels..
I have a 97 Disco currently with Michelin Synchrones on alloys. The time has come to beef this thing up a bit. I'm thinking a2" lift with the trxus/nato wheel deal from atlantic british. Here's the thing though. I rack up about 80 miles a day on the highway but I still want tomake this thing a little more rugged. I live in Vermont so the winters can be pretty brutal and I wouldn't mind hitting the trails in mud season. I used to bea Jeep owner so the mud's in the blood. So I guessmy question is would these tires beok for daily highway travel? Are they ridiculously loud, will the pavement runem right down? Thanks

ive used those tires with similar steel wheelsand i wouldnt recommend the trxus since theyll see so much road time. bfg mt would be a better alternative.
pros
most quietm/t ive use so far
great in the snow
tread cleans itself nicely
very thick sidewall
cons
poor road grip
wears veryquickly on the road
nearly impossible to balance
very thick sidewall doesnt flex much

You might also consider the BFG all terrain T/As. They're more aggressive than the Michelins but handle road duty very well. They wear like iron and are reasonably quiet for an a/t tire. In my opinion based on 110,000 or so miles with them (different truck), they're probably the best all around tire on the market.
