Default Short vs Long

Their website describes them as short engines (blocks) but they describe them as coming with heads and timing. Somebody here said they got a short block but wished they had gotten the long block. Why is that? What does a long block include the others don't?

I love mine. One year and 10,000 miles. No ticks, no leaks, and more power. Perfect!

Long block includes heads w/ rocker shafts. Some reasons to go long over short:
- Turner is the only ones who do gas flowed heads
- comparing cost of proper valve job, decking on existing heads ($450+) vs getting new heads from turner... makes it more appetizing to go long and no need to deal with a machinist

Short does not include heads. I would have gone long block, because the shop screwed up the head gasket job, and if I had gotten a long block I would not be replacing my head gaskets right now.

Greetings...pricing out engines for my Disco 2 now. Would you suggest Turner Long block over any other competitor?!
