Default Two things, could be minor problems (Trunk and Squealing)

First problem, my trunk door is stuck. It seems as if the latch is in between places. I have no idea how I could fix this without going to the dealer. (refuse to do) I tried pushing it in further and trying to open it with the lever inside, but no luck.

Second problem, every time I brake, it makes a squealing noise. The brakes look fine and have some life. I know this could be a common problem that everyone on here knows, but I can't find it with the search button.

Disco is over 100k, just bought it in September, still getting use to the maintenance of keeping it happy.

This should take care of your cargo door.

Sound deadening spray on the back of the brake pads should take care of your brake squeal. Brand new pads will squeal if nothing is used.

So, Spike, on the topic of lubing locks, I'm prone to graphite spray lube... but would that cause shorting problems on the front door lock?

Maybe, some locks/latches are sensitive to being wet.
On my wifes Volvo I lubed the door locks and latches with Liquid Wrench and the door chime chimed for 3 days until I figured it out and used silicon spray instead.

I was actually more concerned about the graphite than the carrier; graphite's conductive. I'm not familiar with the construction of the keylock on the drivers door, and I don't think RAVE actually shows a breakdown either.

Hey guys,

The back door on my wife's 2000 DII is frozen as well. I've saturated the mechanism, but it won't free up. It's stuck in what feels like the "open" position, but the back door is solidly locked.

Any ideas for me?
