What makes you think those weren't diesels? They looked to be doing pretty well until the water got so deep it went in their snorkels...

Not sure how they thought they were going to pull that feat off? They need some floats on those trucks, forget the snorkels..

Lets add a propeller to the drive shaft as well so they can turn into a boat...

Yeah maybe when you see water as high as the 9ft stop light on the poll you don't go down that street. Wait for the Air Boat! But they are National Guard not Special forces.

Or for that matter call the Navy seals in. My neighbor is in a seal team and some of there boats they have need ONLY 5.5 inches of water... Wonder how much a small patrol boat needs? I'm sure less than 9+ feet.

Why are people dumb enough to think that they have to worry about water getting in the exhaust.

They think that the waters pressure of wanting to enter will exceed the pressure of the exhaust gas being forced out the pipe. I would only worry if...... someone driving my rover turned her off while in a stream and the water was above the exhaust pipe... AND SINCE I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER drives her off road I can rest assured that that WON'T happen to me.
