Default Washington Disco Owners - what's your insurance?

Ok, you Washington StateDisco Owners. I always knew insurance was very high in Land Rovers but this seems obsurd to me. I received my 6 month renewal from Geico. My rates increased $200 for a grant total of $1789/ 6 mo. Includes multi-vehicle (have my boat policy through Geico). Minimums on Liability, carry underinsuredand comprehensive coverage.

Safco quoted $1908 w/o multi-vehicle.

I really feel corn-holed here. What are you guys paying?

Ouch! I know it varies from state to state, but I never knew it varied THAT much. I'm in Lexington, KY and my insurance is >$100 per month for full coverage.

Holy!...that's highway robbery.

...I'm over in WI and I pay $100 a month to fully insure both a2004 D2 SE7 and a 2006 Volvo S40 T5.

Edit: and that's with a $250 deductible.

I'm not in Washington, but in Idaho. I have mine insured with American Family, actually, I have all 3 of my Rovers full coverage and an RV Camp trailer insured and I pay $154 per month.
My '01 cost about $55/ mth $1000 deduct
The '95 cost about $54/ mth $500 decuct
The '88 Range Rover cost I think $43 w/ 500 deduct, but I only show it as a less than 5k miles per year. And my trailer doesn't cost but a couple $ per month.

Shop around those rates you are speaking of is highway robbery. My insurance went down when I traded my 88 MB 560 SEL to the 01 Disco about 9 per month. I also have a perfect driving record and over 40 and thatmight make a difference on the rates.

A lot will depend on your age, the amount of your coverage and your driving record. Rovers are not an expensive vehicle to insure.

When I got into it with Gieco over the rates and increasetheir reply was "Land Rover is expensive to insure because parts are expensive and body panels hard to find. Weight of vehicle does a lot of damage to the LR and any vehicle it hits. Roll overs are frequent. Thefts and breakins frequent.

Quotes thus far (based on 6 mos coverage)

Gieco $1789
Safeco $1908
Progressive $1288
Farmers $1246
PEMCO $waiting

Check into Progressive for your boat too. I beleive it will be much cheaper than Geico.

I have three cars and other policies on one bill so........... but my boat by itself is only $238 a year with progressive.

Geico is not cheap any more, they were higher on my Benz too. These are not that expensive to repair in the event of an accident, the body panels are actually less than a Blazer. They also are much safer than any comparable American made vehicle (if there was one). Get away from Geico thing. Try AM FAM and Farmers or State Farm, they are very good these days. Less accident ratio to Tahoe and Suburban and fewer roll overs than either of them. Now your state may have different in-state stats, that may have something to do with it.

Lets not forget that insurance companies give loyalty discounts for mulity year policys.
And his two 10 overs in 3 years hurt, BAD. Need to set the cruise and slow down, it saves you more than just gas.
I live in MI and have my Rover with full coverage, $500 deduct, full glass ($0 deduct), towing and a Camry with PLPD coverage. (personal liability/property damage) That is the minimum for MI that you are aloud to have and I pay $154 per month. It will drop another 2% on my LR's annaversery.
