I heard the 4.0 is a bit under powered.

All the 4.0's are the same horsepower. Some were more prone to failure due to the oil pump issue and a few other quality issues.

That's kinda high for an 02 but it looks clean. I would go have a look and do a good test drive. I like the color and the 18" are a plus.

That's what I paid for my 2003 SE with 56k miles and immaculate condition back in august 2008. Keep looking. (I did an even trade at another dealer's lot for the the silver S model I have now w/ same mileage and condition.)

Yeah, way overpriced for an 02. Should be around $4500 tops.

In what sense? I don't see any advantage over 16", 18" tires cost more and there are less options and they suck for off road.

That's funny, I must have missed the part where it said it needed head gaskets.

18" wheels are fine for moderate off-road use, it's just a matter of personal preference. There is an adequate selection of tires offered for 18" wheels. And, seeing as how the truck will likely see 95% street and 5% off-road use (and I'm probably being too generous with the percentage for off-road use), I think the wheel size of 16" as opposed to 18" is irrelevant. Besides, the 18" Hurricane alloys are a good looking wheel, and anyone that says looks don't matter is either lying or deliberately wants an ugly truck because they think it make themselves look tougher. But, the truth is that an ugly truck is just an ugly truck, doesn't necessarily mean anything else!

To the OP: It's a nice looking truck, but very high on the price.

Look here, edmunds is a pretty good resource:

I'd think it wise not to bet on a used LR being "good to go". So I wouldn't pay "good to go" price for one either. I bought mine at a fairly good price with plenty of room to get things updated/corrected/fixed without any knowledge of major issues...and I'm just getting it back from a total gasket job. Thank goodness I didn't pay retail.

My advice: don't pay close to this price for this year/mileage combo unless you've taken to a dealership/specialist etc and had it THOROUGHLY inspected, inside and out. And even then I'd want a better price.
