so, I haven't done this yet. take a little fab and cutting and some black paint but I'm thinking it will help keep the engine cooler. So what do you think? go or no go.

The Jeep guys have been doing this for years, they use a multitude of vents from a lot of different cars, there is also some aftermarket ones that can be found in the back of a 4wheeler magazine. I used a couple of vents from a plymouth laser and added some small dc fans underneath to expel the hot air. It lowered the temp by at least 25 degrees which while wheeling can make a big difference. The Jeep was not as polished as my Rovers are so I would not do it to mine in present condition.

At least you are thinking out of the box.

Hey...it's your Disco, do what you want!

BUT...if I were to do it, I'd do it in flat-black in conjunction with this:

http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1...scovery-i.aspx

The scoop would be far-less noticeable, but then again, the flat black would probably grab more heat...go figure!

On second thought...pulling a baked Sparrow off the intake manifold doesn't sound too exciting. (could be tasty, though)

do they make any sort of hood scoop for a disco? I'm just trying to keep the temp down on long drives. I am very much considering the blackout kit (need to decide between paint or decal though, I am watching the other thread) Yes its a spare off my suby, thought if it wasn't getting used might as well take a look.
However looking now it does look far to small for such a big hood.
