Default What kind of jack?

For those of you out there that had your trucks lifted, what kind of jack do you keep/use for emergency use? The factory jack is not gonna do the job. I do have Bortoff sliders installed.

I agree, only though, if a Hi Lift will lift from your sliders without caving in a door panel, other wise go to Sears and get a good 3 ton plus jack.

If it's a suspension lift it doesn't matter how high it is. The only thing that impacts the jack height is the OD of your tires. Unless you're running really huge tires the stock jack will still probably ok.
For example, starting with a stock size like 235/70R16 that's about 29" diameter, then going to a 32" tire, that's only an additional 1 1/2" the jack has to extend to reach the axle.

Now if you're talking about jacking from the chassis, that's different.
As for a hi-lift, if you've never used one find someone who has a lot of experience with them to show how to safely use them. I've been using them since '75 so have a bit of experience.
They are extremely dangerous (as in can kill you) unless used improperly. When used properly they are merely very dangerous.

Get yourself one of these.

Cut it into 12" sections and carry 2 of them with you.
Need to jack up your truck, set them side by side, place the base of the jack square on them and jack away.

Thanks for the responses, I didn't know about the tire size situation. I will soon be switching to 265-75-16 tires, but in reality, they are not the big so the factory jack with some wood shoould do. But I also think the exhaust jack would be good especially while on the trails with the uneven road. I like the Hi lift jack but don't have a roof rack yet to mount it haha.
