what should i do?
i took my 2004 disco in today at 8 amto the local land rover dealerfor an oil change. i recieved a call at about three today telling me there was a problem. they accidently drove my disco into a garage that was too low and destroyed my norhwestparts roof rack, offroad lights, broke out the tail lights and tore up the roof. they said it was over $7000 in damage. they now need to keep it for a week or too. i cant beleive this happened!!!!
Well first off, you shouldn't pay for a cent of that damage, or labor.
If they try to make you, play hard.
But if they are a true business, they will take care of it for you.
That sucks that it happened though....

They should take care of everything and replace the parts that were damaged with the correct stuff, I hope you got a loaner! Sorry, that does suck, but if they are putting back right then stuff happens.
Just make sure that they give you a nice loaner car, like an 08 supercharged Range Rover. That sucks, but it happens and at least you weren't driving it. Seems like a LR dealer should know better. Check it over and take a lot of close-up pictures ofthe body and accessories.Document exactly what they damagedso thatyou knoweverything gets repaired right, especially the body work.
It had to have been a new guy who did that. How could an experienced LR person not be aware of something like that?? If you really want to be picky about it you could ask for a "better" loaner, but thats the least of your problems right now. Be sure they dont cut any corners while fixing it, and def. get a warranty like mentioned before. They are 100% liable for fixing it to how it was before. Make sure they give you the EXACT roof rack and lights, nothing cheaper.
Sucks. Now you have a tarnished carfax because of the poor decision making skills of the dealer service guys[&o]. And do the pictures thing, and if you have the receipts for the parts, take 'em down and give em to the dealer so he knows what he's replacing.
