Default What are these lines!?

While changing the O2 sensors on my Disco II, I found these three lines running parallel to the length of the vehicle and tucked up near the connector of the passenger rear O2 sensor. What are these and what are they for?! Am I missing a vital component of the truck, now? Will it explode soon, because it has been driving great and hasn't led me to believe it will explode and kill me, yet. Any help is appreciated!

Those are breathers for your axles and tranny. They should be going up your fire wall but appear to have come loose. You just don't want water getting into them.

You're ok though

Just cut the ends of them clean off, buy some hose connectors and some hose from the parts store and run them up as high as you can get them along the firewall. Or even up into the A-pillar if you're feeling really productive.

You're going to want to get them snipped at the top and reinstall them on the firewall.
