Default What Transfer Case is this?

Finally got myself under my truck and am trying to id my transfer case. It has "FRC5416" printed on it. A google search makes me think this is just the sump cover plate. But I'm only finding it associated with the Disco 1.

So do I have a disco one transfer case then?
And should I be pleased or irritated about that?

It came with a center locking dif linkage that is not installed and it doesn't detect when it's in low (no hill decent currently) so I had my suspicions.

Thanks!

It's a t-case bottom cover gasket for LT230 in Defenders, D1s, and early 86-91 RRClassics.

That's what I thought. So I think that does mean its a D1 transfer case.
Anyone know how to confirm this?

Check ashcroft transmissions for ID'ing it.

I suppose it's possible, but that gasket does NOT belong on a DII. Microcat says there's something off.

I'd ID it from the SN, not gasket PN's.

^That too. You say it was printed on the t-case? Maybe that never changed from the earlier LT230s.

Thanks Guys!

That was the only text I could see on it the first time under. Supposed to rain for the next week so I'll have to see later.
I thought I'd have another look at the linkage that came with the truck — definitely from a D1. Unfortunately it was from two owners ago, so it's just circumstantial evidence. Could be unrelated.

If it is I'm thinking of replacing the hi/low detector switch with a manual in cab switch. Has anyone done this? I'm wondering where it's best to pick up the wiring… I'm going to go look through the rave see what I can learn.

Why are you wanting to change out the Hi/Lo switch. With a 01, if you add either a D1 or 04 shift assembly, the indicator light in the cluster will come on any time you lock the case.

That transfer case is probably put in there with a great deal of pain and expense..
It is so you can have CDL or diff locking.

Try to move the little transfer case shifter towards the steering wheel.
That is CDL mode.

For off roading this is a "top shelf" experience.
