Yeah nothing has been done.. No heads .. No drive shaft.. Not sure if it falls in the VIN range..

Am I crazy, or do most buyers in the market place purchase these with little to no knowledge of what they are getting into? Similarly, do many of you guys see this also from Sellers who over price these??

She is asking 8700 which is nuts!!

Yeah he is nuts but somebody will pay close to that and in a few thousand miles be doing head gaskets. Then they will have the drive shaft fail and blow a big hole in transmission. And either junk it or pay 6 k for repairs. More than likely you would have already had a oil pump problem with in the first 20 k but yes lots of suckers love the look but know nothing about the maintenance they need.

So the better question is, how do you " win" in that kind of marketplace where sellers are uninformed and pay way more than they should? I've seen several DII's sell quickly in the 2000-2004 year range for $8000-9000 recently, which is absurd!!!

Understood 2001Silver.. With the help of you and others on the board, you have improved my knowledge base immensely.. What I mean is, how do you convince the guy to unload it for 3k-5k when some knucklehead may pay 7k-8k because of the look and brand? I guess the hope is you will find one that has an owner that understands what the vehicle is, and has maintained it properly.. It's gonna be an interfering process..

How do you win? Well do research before you buy.... if you do not do your homework you fail miserably........

I am sure you meant when the buyer is uninformed? The seller may not know whats about to happen and if he does and does not disclose with buyer then shame on him.

where are you located? the markets are different all over the country. up by me in NY i have seen a few 03/04's pop up. One i saw today was $3500 obo. The prices come down when they realize no one is willing to pay as much as they are asking. Sometimes uninformed people do buy it for the name. Others start high and end up low when no one bites. Harder to get people to buy it for the name when it needs hi-octane that costs nearly $5 a gallon and only gets 15mpg... just keep your eyes open test drive loads of them and come back to her in a month if she hasn't sold it.
