RE: what was your first vehicle?
1987 Chevrolet Chevette 4 cyl. (I think it was a 5-speed manual but could have been a 4-speed). It liked to take it's time going anywhere. It might have fallen apart if I hit 70. Mom bought new and gave to me when I was 15.
1997 Chevrolet Cavalier 4 cyl. (fuel pump bad at 30k, alternator died at 35k, fuel pump going out at 38k when I sold it)
1997 Ford Ranger 4 cy.5 speed-manual. I miss this truck.
1997 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl. 5 speed. manual.
2002 LR Disco II Westminster Edition (my first vehicle that's not a 4 cylinder) Current

RE: what was your first vehicle?
My first car was a 1979 Ford Thunderbird. Yes, 21 feet of jade green glory. I had the luxury sport model. It came with a yellow vinyl top, and leahter straps on the trunk.Yes, leather straps on the trunk. There was no real purpose or reason for the straps, other than 70s style, I guess... The 'bird had 305 with two barrel carb. That car, you could turn the steering wheel to left and to right, but the car would still track straight.
Current vehicles include a Golf TDI, BMW F650, and a 1964 Puch twingle.
the BMW, when there is no snow, or ice is my daily "driver." She keeps me sane.

RE: what was your first vehicle?
I was raised in a British-car-loving family. Always heard stories of, and looked at old pictures of, quite a few MGs that preceded me in the family. Loved Jags, Austins, or anything else wearing Jack. Always had Jeeps, though - many. Since I couldn't get a newer MG in the US, the Miata was my answer. Love that car. Not much for go in a straight line, but it has taken much pricier vehicles (some exotics) to handle better.

1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55. I bought it from my favorite high school teacher upon graduation in 1974. I drove it until the engine gave me a lot of trouble and gas reached the unbelievable price of .90/gallon!
The only other off road vehicle I owned was a 1986 Isuzu Trooper turbo diesel which I sold in 1999 when the Gulf war cause the price of diesel to skyrocket to $1.48/gallon.
My Toyota looked something like this which I always thought it was a Land Rover rip off.

RE: what was your first vehicle?
1984 Chevy Camaro w/ monster 2.8L V-8
1994 Volvo 700. Bought it for my wife after we got married
1984 Ford F-100 w/302
1991 chevy suburban
2001 Discovery II
The best by far was the Camaro. A really ****ty car to be honest, but just the memories of getting a ton of girls in the backseat makes it the best hands down.
