Default where to buy CDL lever for my '99 disco?

I've seen them online before but now that I'm ready to buy one I can't find them. I think the one I saw was at safarigard.com but I do not see it now.

oh yeah, I called a local LR dealership and they want @ $600 for a '04 lever and cable. (not sure what the cable is for, I thought only a lever was needed)

Is this for a D1 or D2? D1 CDL can be purchased for about $150 at RoverLandParts. Looks like they even have an '04 linkage for $329. I got mine for $275. I talked to Rob at Car Cannibal (about a month ago) and he said they were going to sell D1 CDL linkages ready to drop into a D2. There is a bend in the linkage that needs to be made (to fit in a D2) and he said they would do it before sending it.

For the '04 shifter you use 2 cables, one for the hi/low and one to engage/disengage the CDL. The D1 shifter uses a mechanical linkage for the CDL.

Edit: I did forget an important thing about Car Cannibal. I placed an order for an '04 CDL and they sent me a D1 linkage. At the time they didn't realize there was a difference between D1 and '04, but they charged $275 anyways. I did return their linkage and purchased the '04 from RoverLandParts. If they still want that for a D1 go somewhere else, or tell them what others are asking. I've seen a few salvage guys sell D1 linkages for as low as $100.

It's for a DII. I thought I saw them online for @ $100. Any idea how much car cannibal is going to sell theirs for?

I spent $10.00 at Home Depot and made a CDL handle. I used the diagram off of www.rovershoppe.com.

Cheers,

Pete

I have seen that webpage and that is a good cheap idea, but I'd really like to be able to enguage the CDL from inside the cab..yeah I'm lazy.

I like how they make you think you're getting a deal at $180 (from $250) for a D1 t-case shifter.&nbsp\\; Again, RoverLandParts (currently) has 19 D1 shifters for $150 each.&nbsp\\; Looks like the '04 has already been sold.
