Where is cam sensor located on 2000 Disco?

Is cam sensor in front or back of head, and which side. Do I have to remove other components to get to it?

Thanks-
mtfife

Why do you ask, do you have a fault code for it, what is your engine doing wrong, are you not getting any fuel?????????????????

Its in front by the water pump.
You can see the wires next to the oil sending unit.

Good morning Mike-

I am the same guy having probs with the P1884. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor and now looking into cam sensor. No codes for it, but at a loss. Again, the engine fires strong for several revs and immediately shuts off. I swear the computer is shutting it down based on some input from something. Fuel and spark are both there initially, but shut off after several revolutions. Tach registers during start, but goes off when it shuts down (almost immediately). Is there a computer reset?

Before you jump into the replacement of the cam semsor, verify you are not getting any fuel and or use a good scanner and see what sort of signal the sensor is putting out.
