Default Whining whriling noise

Whining whriling noise during morning start up after it warms up it go's away.
The best way to explane the sound is a like a power steering noise when either low on fuild or under load.
I checked the PS fluid checks good the trans shifts fine but when driving sometime from a start I get the same noise.
I been wouldering if some how conected to the vibartion in the drivetrain 75 MPH and above New rebuilt Front driveshaft new rear full converted U-Joint rear drive shaft helped out but still 75 + these's still a vibration.
It has 104500 on the clock has not been off roaded it had a easy life 2003 Disco.

secondary air injection pump on passenger side firewall , sounds like a big vaccum cleaner, could be the whining or whirling sound possibly? Thats what mine sounds like upon startup, just a guess for your 03

Default Can you guys take another peek at this question?

Hey guys I know this is an older post, but I didn't see an answer. My 2000 DII does this as well every morning. Very loud, last about 45 secs to one minute. Doesn't stop me from driving it, so please don't tell me it's broken, my husband may sell me and the Rover

How does the transmission shift? is it full? could be transmission pump wanting some fluid. If its not the power steering pump thats where I would go next, check the trans fluid.

Tell him to check the filter and connections on the SAI (secondary air injection) system.

Check and see if it's coming from the oil pan beneath the car. I had the same issue, and it turns out my oil pump pickup screen was becoming clogged with gunk and sludge and was hindering the pumps performance. Dropped the pan and clean out pan and pickup screen. Good as new now. But it could be VERY bad if you ignore it, as lack of oil could destroy engine quickly.
