Check out the winches quadratec.com sells. I don't have any first hand experience with them but they seemed comparable to the major brands but cost less. Just another option.

I find that even though Chinese made crap is cheaper, in the long run you'll end up spending the same amount of money replacing it constantly as you would if you just bought the more expensive, more reliable non-Chinese made product in the first place.

Don't forget about Ramsey, they are as rugged as they get. Warn and Ramsey have been mainstays for decades. If you want speed get a Warn planetary drive. If you stump pulling grunt get a worm drive Ramsey. It will be heavy and slow but is literally commercial grade. Jerr-Dan and other tow truck manufacturers use them. A good cheaper option is some of the recent Australian imports.
