Question Window regulator

right as I'm trying to sell it more things break the window won't roll up and down. i hear it trying to but it drops only about half an inch then goes back up that half inch. (drivers side) it doesn't close all the way it closes with about 1/4 of an inch gap left and it lets in that really annoying whistle. When it broke i heard a really loud crack sound. what could it be I'm trying to diagnose before i pull off the door pannel. could it just be one of the little rollers that finally cracked because the window is tilting i can send upload a video if needed.

Pretty sure that you are going to have to take the door apart to know for sure...

I used a "ProLine" regulator from Rovers North to replace my broken stock front driver side regulator.
Edit - It's worth noting the regulator was seized when I got it. It started moving fine(and hasn't given me any difficulty after install) after I locked one part in a vise and worked the other a couple times, but you might need to break it in a little before installing. I wasn't willing to use the motor to do it, in the event it might get damaged.

I followed the instructions here, but I think I'd have figured it out without them as well. It's not difficult, just takes time. Definitely something you could get done in an evening.

Your problem very well may be that the plastic wheel on the regulator has broken. Plenty of discussion about how to fix that for little cost on this forum.
