window regulator nylon runner easy fix

5 Attachment(s)
I have just fixed and replaced a broken window regulator nylon runner wheel with a piece of rectangular plastic. It was easy and straight forward to do. I thought I might share my solution to the community :)

Please take a look at the pictures I am attaching. Should be pretty much self explanatory, but I am happy to add information if needed.

Best,
The Vivster.

Thats a great idea. The poly plastic should be somewhat self lubricating too. Let us know how long it lasts too.

window regulator nylon runner easy fix

So far so good :) But I have it only for two days now. I promise to give an update once it is stop working. I bet the other silly nylon wheel runners from Land Rover in the other windows will give up before this one goes...

Cheers.

there was someone on here that was making new rollers with a 3d printer, they were two piece you slid them over the stud and glued them together

Here's the 3d printed rollers:

It would be nice if someone did this for the sunroof glides.

would also make a nice post-it so people can find it when needed

I know this is an old thread, but can you tell us where you sourced the plastic?

I have this repair to do today, and was thinking of going to big lots and finding a cheap cutting board to hack apart.

Thanks!

Hi,

I just took a piece off of my driveway trash can :) It is thick, durable and strong.

The window is till working...

How did you manage with the fix?

Good luck,
The Vivster
