No no no, thats not what i meant by that. I guess it came across the wrong way. The rest of my post was all regurading the Disco. Some people are really big on the gas thing and when is comes to the discovery, obviously its no hybrid, but I hate hybrids so thats why I love the discovery! Radik, I would say if you can try and forget about the gas situation, you will LOVE the discovery. But if gas is a primary concern and its a #1 problem for you, but you still want a LR, the freelander (and LR2) are always and option. But as Darover said they are kind of a joke. They arent unique and they aren't very good off road. Like I said good luck, keep us posted on your search!

Ok first off, Honda with a Phat exhaust, please. I have owned two, and they were my beginner cars, and I would never go back to them. I have nothing against them, just not my cup of tea. The gas issue is one of practicality. In terms of maintenance, regular or scheduled maintenance is fine, but having to fix something like every month is just a pain. I've had 3 cars of which every month I would have to be at a mechanic shop. And it wasn't due to my driving, etc, i baby my vehicles, but due to flaw in designs. One that was a headache was a Mitsubishi GSR which I owned, something was always breaking or something, due to the fact that it was Auto and couldn't accomodate the engine's power. All I want is a vehicle of which I can love and enjoy, be dependable, and yet practical. I'll take the notion of driving a few to see how it goes. But all in all, if I'm not going to get a Discovery, I guess I'll never own another SUV... Thanx for your help guys

 

Well, chances are you will have to be at the shop fairly often in the firstfew months, depending how **** you are about the condition of your vehicles. But once most of the preventative maintenance and all that has to be done is done, you can really enjoy these vehicles.

Just remember that most people will sell their Disco when there's a long list of things to do on them, and they are fed-up with spending money in it.
