how hard is it to replace the water pump? also, can i get a link to the shop manual, ETM, and owners manual if available? Open to all questions, comments, concerns, etc. Thank you for your time! A diamond in the rough?
As ArmyRover said, Freelanders have a pretty bad reputation in the states. There's even a Land Rover shop near me that won't work on them on principle.
My first advice would be to not. Don't buy it/return it if you have a grace period. Freelanders are finicky, issue prone, and they take a lot of work.
However, if you are set on/stuck with owning a freelander, and if you can do the work yourself; I would plan on spending $500-1000 on a DIY timing belt/water pump job. I just did my timing belt and if all goes well it can be done as a full day 6-8 hour job if you have the tools.
If you do end up going through with this, let me know and I'll make a post with the resources I've found that make live easier.
Here's a link to the owners manual: https://manuals.co/workshop/land-rov...manual/5526140
Here's a link to the "workshop manual", which is mostly talking about what parts are there: http://www.club4x4.ro/service/Manual...p%20Manual.pdf
Somewhere there's a link to the full service manual floating around, but I can't find it at the moment (I don't have it saved because I bought a hard copy). But I'll keep looking and post it here if I find it.
