Brake "scraping" noise upon 5 months of not driving Freelander
I didn't drive my 2004 Land Rover Freelander for approximately 5 months. Stupidly, I didn't even start it regularly. I wasn't thinking....
Of course, the battery died and is beyond the point of jumpability. This is a minor problem - I'll just buy it a new battery.
THE BIGGER PROBLEM, and my question: when I did have it jumped (quickly died again), I drove it around the block and noticed a scratching sound when I hit the brakes (which otherwise seemed to work fine). The truck had been running fine when I last drove it (many months ago), so I can't imagine that this would be "worn down brake pads." Have you seen this before on cars that have not been driven for a long time? What could it be, what can I expect when I take it to the shop, and how much money do you think I am looking at????
THANK YOU! Please email me if you've seen this before or can help give me an idea of what to expect at the shop.
