could the brake light switch also be causing this to happen on a 1999 discovery II
|
yes and no, mostly no. if it won't come out of gear then its the brake switch.
have it diagnosed. Without the diagnosis I can't tell you anything. Although, its not a bad idea to check for loose wheelbearings. If they are bad they will throw a code but regardless of the problem get a new wheelbearing first. Otherwise it will be really dangerous when the wheel falls off. |
okay so now i am broke down again...i am at my wits end with this thing...thank you for the reply, but my question is now....i have no power steering...think it blew a hose out...is this hard to fix and can i drive it without messing anything else up....

I had the same issue with my 2002 freelander. They placed the stop light switch and it went away( had the switch replaced because brake lights didn't work). Not sure if they are related but it's been about two months and nothing.

did you just have a service done to it? or the battery replace/disconnected or even the wheels or wheel taken off... if none of the above go start the car and see if they come back on... i just did a service on one and on the test drive they came up but went to lunch came back started car drove and they were gone hooked up t4 and nothing so hopefully it is just checking itself if it is still on let us know

Hi could anyone please tell me where to find the brake light switch in Landrover freelander. From internet I could see that if the hill descent light is and traction control light is on then its something to do with Brake Light Switch. thanks
