Starting issue after refuelling on hot days
Hi all.
We are Australian Freelander 2 newbies, having owned our 2011 i6 SE Auto since late November.
We have an issue after refuelling that only seems to happen on hot days (32'+).
After filling the tank the car will run for perhaps a minute or 2 before cutting out.
It then restarts on the 3rd or 4th attempt and runs OK after that.
This has happened 3 or 4 times now - today it cut out in the middle of a roundabout just after the petrol station.
Last time in the middle of the carpark at the supermarket where the fuel station is (and no, it is not cheap supermarket fuel, but a Caltex station).
Research on the internet turned up this as a problem with the Freelander 2 on Australian Car Reviews: The Land Rover L359 Freelander 2's engine may not restart after heat soak due to insufficient fuel pressure to overcome vapor lock (i.e. liquid fuel changing to gas while still in the fuel delivery system).
Is this what is happening with my car? If so what's the cure?
Thanks in advance
