Default Wheel question

Hi all,

What kind of wheels fit a 2004 - 1.8i Freelander exept the one that came from the factory ? I mean is it compatible with for example BMW 3series alu wheels? I wanna go for a 17" perhaps 18" wheels, in this order what kind of tires do I need ( the hight of those I mean ) 225 x ..... x 17 or 225 x .... x 18". Hope some one can help me out here.

thx in advance.

Default RE: Wheel question

Hi MoneyFor

I ordered my Freelander with the 18" wheel option. They're 18x7" wheels with P235/50R18 tires. I also have some aftermarket wheels that I run during the summer months 20x8.5" wheels with P245/40ZR20 tires. (I should add, that this size fits under the fenders, doesn't poke out or rub anywhere). Basically you can run the same wheels that fit an Acura MDX 2000 - 2004, though not the same tires (the Freelander is limited to a tire that is 28.3 inches tall, to clear the suspension). The bolt pattern 5-114.3, offset 35mm, and very important, center bore 64.1mm are the same, though the Freelander wants a wheel and tire that will handle a heavier load rating than the MDX (the Freelander is a real off-road vehicle, whereas the MDX is basically a crossover vehicle). Anyway, by using the specs above, you shouldn't have a problem finding any aftermarket wheels for your Freelander.
