Hi, my abs pump is not making any noise, I've touched it and no vibrations coming from it, I've checked the power lines and there's power going in, but its' just not working.I've read about bleeding it and all of that, but what about when its not running, am I missing something? I don't wanna buy a new one, and find out that wasn't need it. Is running for about $450 refurbished, and I dont' wanna buy a used one, if I could find it... PLEASE HELP ME...[]

 

If there is power to the unit but it's not doing anything, then it is almost certainly toast. Mine died on the Poison Spider Mesa trail in Moab at night in '97 and I had to use the hand brake the rest of the way! The trouble with the motor is that you can't disassemble it to see if it is the problem without destroying the casing. I took mine apart in the campground in moab, realized that is was a goner, and sweated there for two days doing nothing waiting for UPS from Salt Lake City. If your pump is still the original then it has probably had a pretty full life at 17 years old and can't be blamed too much for giving up the ghost.
