92 Range Rover Classic problems
Just purchased this vehicle and it has several issues that must be addressed.
(1) Someone hotwired so that condensor fans run all the time - they don't even want to shut off once the engine is shut off.
(2) The most important is that the transmission line cooler that runs across the front (behind the grille) is leaking at the connection - is there a way to fix the leak? Anyone have experience with this - the new part costs over $500!
(3) The ABS unit has a loud buzzing noise to it - is that something that could get fixed or needs to get replaced?
(4) passenger seat is stuck due to the switches not working - or maybe the motor.
Any way to hotwire this so I can put the seat in a normal position?
Thanks in advance! - Ted

1. Check the fuse box, if they wired it to run full time, chances are they have it wired in the fuse box at the relay. If your rover is over heating, the fans will most likely remain on until the engine cools to the proper temperature. Make sure you do not have a cooling issue first.
2. Try getting a used cooler line. Might also try tightening the connection or renewing the o ring if it has one.
3. ABS pump will do this when there is air in the system, which is often times a result of not bleeding the system properly. If you bleed the system properly, but the noise is still there, you may have to rebuild/replace the pump.
4. I doubt your chair motor is bad, it is most likely the switches as they are not very durable. You will need to take apart the switch and connect certain leads together to make the seat move. You can also buy a Mercedes seat switch instead of the rover brand. They are the same, but the Mercedes switch is cheaper.
