99'HSE A/C woes

Pleased to introduce myself. Name is Ajan- I reside in desert southwest
New to the Rover HSE - a 99' but have a 63 ssllA and an 86' 90 200Tdi ( my favorite vehicle to date)

So what i get from lady I bought from - the a/c can be tempermental. every so often it will not work-
Anyone know anything about this I speak of - i did a search and nadda

i used to have an 94 that the unit under passengers dash would freeze up in hot weather- that only happened once though

She was talking of having the dash removed and something fixed - thought I would check first

ANy clues?

please and thanks

peace:

hi there
i used to have a suburban and the ac had trouble . i remember a friend of mine telling me to take a hammer and tap the ac-box under the console at the passenger side.
he said that dirt can seaze it. i don't know if that is your problem, but the fact that your ac comes on sometimes made me think of it (or a lose contact)

did you have any luck with this?

i have the same problem with my 97 hse, the a/c only works intermittently--don't want to pour money into it unless i absolutely have to, seeing as though it works at times i don't think replacement of all the components as my shop suggested was necessary--

i have looked up a potential culprit, a "3-way pressure switch failure".

has anyone else had this problem?
