Brake Lockup & ABS issue of P38 RR
Recently, I encountered a big brake lockup incident of my 1998 P38 RR.
First, the right-rear wheel was locked up and the caliper held the disk firmly, burning the disk as I drove.
I took it to mechanics and discusssed the possible cause. The conclusion at that time was the faulty master cylinder. I replaced the master cylinder and the car bagan to go again.
Withinthree days, the right-front wheel locked and burned itself as I drove. I took the car to a mechanic again and found the ABS pump was leaking and the brake fluiddroppedbelow to the MIN level at the reservoir.
I fixed the leaking pump by replacing the O-ring sealand thoroughlychecked the conditions ofthe ABS pump, pressure switch,ABS accumulator, ABS ECU, & four ABS sensors with a multi-tester. They looked fine and normal.
The brake began to work again, but new problems appeared.
(1) the brake pedal is very stiff and push out my foot as I apply.
(2) the travel distance of the brake pedal is very shortened in comparison to that of before lockup incident
(3)the ABS pump begins to work and rotate everytime I apply the brake pedal
(4)the ABS and ETC warning lights stay turn-on. (the brake warning light DOES NOT)
Any advice is really appreciated.
