Buzzing Noise

So a strange sound today surfaced. I was parking my car and just before I shut it off a buzzing started behind the dash (first time I ever heard it). I turned the car off and back on again but it continued. I then turned it off, took the key out and locked the door.About 5 seconds after the door was locked the buzzing literally faded away to silence.
Any guesses?
By the way, my wife and I just laugh when these problems happen because we have come to expect them. I told her that with any other car you wouldbebothered but with theRover it is just a part ofits character.

Haha thats a good theory to go with![Big Grin](https://landroverforums.com/forum/images/smilies/lxvR5hR.png)
How do these things do the door chimes and alarms? Is it a seperate speaker in the dash or does it use the speakers? I've seen a few domestics with shorted/blown chime modules in the dash that make a nasty buzzing sound instead of a chime.

It's probably your efan. Not sure what year is your Range Rover, but mine is an '04. The Efan is in a black box located in your engine department on the left hand side (Looking from the front) even though it sounds like it's coming from the dash. The bearing of the fan is what's making this buzz or chirping sound. It's an easy job for the dealer, and probably 1/2 to 45 minute job for youif you want to do it yourself.
Next time it buzzes, open you hood and listen to it.
