Has any one ever reconditioned their door handles? mine are faded to the point of looking Grey. They should be black. The lamp guards also look Grey

It's due to weathering, almost everyone I see come in to the shop is about the same. Ever considered having them painted?

Yes that sounds good, what type of paint would you recommend? I want to make sure it does not flake off and look crappy.

I'm not much of a body-work person, so I'm not sure what would work best. It should be something that bonds well with plastic, though. I would check with a body shop and see what they might recommend.

Chrome handles ughhh lol.
You can use Forever Black on the handles and all the black plastic trim (excluding grill guard) to restore it to a brand new black look. Just be sure to clean the handles and remove any dirt and grim before applying. If it gets on the paint it's fine as you can use acetone to safely remove the black from the paint without any harm to the paint. It works wonders. Best of luck

Ditto on the Forever Black. Get it from Griot's Garage or online - used it on our P38 handles and black trim pieces a couple of years
ago and it still looks good.

Thanks I'll look it up. I spoke to an auto painter friend and he also recommends using SEMS paint.
I wouldn't really go chrome any way, the black against the Oxford blue look great when it is black not grey

Used forever black on my door handles (along with the bumpers) and it looks great to this day

I painted mine with the SEMS trim paint and they turned out great. It was a PITA to mask them off. If I had it to do all over, I think I would use the forever black if it just goes on with a cloth.
