I'm curious if there a difference between the two as with bmw's the euro's are ten times better.

 

Only in the beam pattern, and whether or not you pass inspection (depends on how strict your inspection station is where you live). I prefer the e-code beam pattern over the DOT beam pattern, but that's just me.

Thanks, I had a feeling that was the case. 2 of my 3 Bimmers have e-codes and the difference is night and day

 

For an idea of how much better the ECE pattern is, this is a photo of ECE (e-code) Hella H4 housings installed on my old RRC. Pay attention to the beam cutoff along the wall, and remember that these are 7" round lamp housings.
