Too good to pass up, right?
Hello all.
Im obviously new to the forums, but wanted to get some feedback and advice.
A friend of mine has a 2010 RR, 23,000 miles. He has 9 months left on his lease at 1400/month, then his buy out is only $32,000!!! In essence I would get the car for about $45,000!!!
Anyone know how much the dealership would charge to add on the factory warranty to 6yrs/100,000miles?
Any suggestions before I say yes? He says he hasnt had any problems, and knows this is a below market deal so he isnt interested in making it any more attractive for me at his expense.
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Half empty guy here.
Rarely is a good deal, in fact a good deal
A few rambling thoughts
1. Will LRNA allow him to transfer the lease or is this leased through a capital company?
2. What is the mileage allowance? Do you have enough miles for 9 months?
3. Lease buy-out are never below market. Dealers always hedge the future market. Is there some dealer title transer doc fee of $10k : ). I wouldn't be suprised if your friend doesn't fully understand the agreement
4. Extended Warranty - no comment here (why pre pay for repairs???)
5. If this is such a great deal why isn't your bud buying the RR? Or better yet, buying and flipping
6. Assuming that this is a 36 year lease the total cost would be $82k again this seems low to me.
Be careful

Thanks for the good points.
1. The lease is through US Bank, not LRNA, so direct transfer of lease isnt possible.
2. Mileage on car is 23XXX. Lease allows for 32500. Plenty for me. ( Ihave a copy of the actual lease)
3. If I bought the car outright, you are correct - they would charge me about $7500 extra. But if he buys the car, then I buy it from him, the purchase option fee is only $500
4. Dealer wanted $6800 to take warranty to 6yrs/100,000 miles. After I woke up, I politely declined and decided to put $5000 in a "rainy day" account that hopefully doesnt get used often
5. He is getting divorced, and needs it off his assets
6. Its a 39 month lease, and it looks like he put about 10K down in a cap cost reduction payment.
Its looking like its a go. I brought it to dealer today, had the 30,000 mile service done, and plan on finalizing the paperwork this week. Look forward to being an active member of the forum!!
