01 Rover 4.6 Not Starting Need Help ASAP!

Hello

Thanks for looking and trying to help:)

I have a 2001 Range Rover 4.6 and it has some starting issues::

1: Sometimes it starts, sometimes it does not--Always cranks

2. Usually the non starting takes place when cold or in the mornings

3. I replaced fuel pump with aftermarket fuel pump--Ran fine for 5 days now its back to starting when it feels like starting.

4. Run Great all day today, but who knows what lies ahead for me in the AM.

5. This problem has been off and on for about 3 weeks.

6. On another note, if I spray starting fluid when not starting it will fire but dies back out. Wait a few hours and it starts and runs lie new.

I have read a ton of posts that say Cam Sensor and Im looking for some good educated guesses....Mine are Bad Cam sensor--Defective Fuel Pump

Thanks Guys I really Appreciate the Help!!

Bad crank position sensor, the cam sensor never fails on these things.

So the crank position sensor would cause the above issues? Rule out defective fuel pump? Also Do local auto stores stock the sensor?

Thanks

Yes the local parts store can order you a new crank sensor.
I re-read your thread, it ran fine for a week with the new fuel pump, so either the fuel pump went bad or you did something wrong.
If it runs on the starter fluid then you have spark and that rules out the crank sensor.
Did you install a whole new fuel pump assembly or did you just replace the electric motor?
