03 Discovery Coil Pack
I just tried to replace the coil pack and plug wires on my 03 Disco II - I have no idea how this is done. Even with the top of the intake manifold off of the engine it is impossible to get to all of the bolts holding the coils in place.
The engineering on this is absolutely terrible. who in their right mind who knows anything about electrics would put two coils on the back of a 200 degree motor? Not to mention the fact that it is a major operation (four hours) to get to a position to change the plug wires, which by the way was the problem - the ends at the plugs were literally cooked.
Nice job ROVER - this pig is for sale - at a loss if possible. I thought the Mercedes I had was junk but Rover really has them beat all to hell!
Just goes to show if you sell a good European company to an American car maker we can figure out how to completely wreck a good project!
NO MORE ROVERS
