Default '04 DII, I'm new to Rovers...

i've "inherited" 2004 LR DII SE, has noise from drive belt pulleys- tensioner, idlers (2). I feel sure that I can change them. Shop wanted $700!! Would like to get it done in next 2-3 days, but need parts numbers for this application, from someplace like O'reilly's, AutoZone, etc. Can somebody get me going on this quest?

Good luck with those shops for pulleys and a tensioner. I bought the tensioner, the small idler and a replacement bearing for the larger idler through amazon.

Default Found pulleys....

Actually, I have purchased the tensioner pulley from O'Reilly, new, and the 2 idler pulleys from a local Land Rover dealership. All 3 parts, new, for less than $170. But I can't (yet) find torque specs. Being new to this site (and Rovers), I still need to dig around for specs, unless somebody can direct me to them. Thanks.

Belt tensioner can be purchased at most local auto parts stores for less than $60. I purchased replacement bearings rather than complete pulleys for the idlers. The bearing part #s need the 2RS suffix which means 2 Sided Seals with a Rubber Seals.

You need to download the RAVE workshop manual to get you started on specs and diagrams.

Belt Tensioner Assembly Complete Dayco part# 89287

Here is where I bought my bearings for the 2 idler pulleys, USA Bearings & Belts on Ebay. You may be able to get them at a local parts store with these numbers, but most likely will need an experienced parts buy to use the cross-reference book for you.

Link to thread on replacing the bearings with part#s Really pretty straight forward and does not require a lot of time either.

Check the prices for the smaller 70mm diameter pulley. I bought mine for about the same price as a bearing. They go for $15 to $20. I couldn't find a good price on the larger 80mm pulley so I bought a bearing for that one.
