Default 5.0 Do not rotate engine backwards

In reading the shop manual regarding the Range Rover 5.0 (NA) it states not to rotate the engine backwards, but does not explain why. Never seen that regarding any engine. Can anyone explain what happens if the engine is rotated backwards?

I've seen that in every workshop manual I've ever read. Not certain of the reason for it though.

For one thing I would think rotating the engine anticlockwise could cause issues with the timing chain tensioners and guide blades.

I thought for some reason it may also have something to do with the mechanically driven two high pressure fuel pumps on the side of the block.
