Well this morning I installed the ngk plugs. The autolites had some carbon build up on them and they only had about 3k miles on them. Any info on that would be good. Cleared code drove her about 80 miles bam check engine light. Havent had the chance to go get it read but I'm sure it's a p1138 like last time. Its getting 15.5mpg it can't be running that rich? So now sorta stuck. Its either o2 sensors..... Get getting frustrated at this point. But I'm sure we will figure it out.

I am going to say O2 sensors.
These trucks are capable of 20mpg+ if well tuned and driven right.
Do NOT buy universals, go direct fit.
Amazon seems to have the best price.
They are a HUGE PIA to replace so dont buy used.

well you are right about the o2 sensor. So i smogged it again. Passed with flying colors. but failed me due to OBDII could night give the ok that my o2 sensors are working correctly. so i failed. good news she isn't a GP. bad news o2 sensors are bad. but at least i know its not cats and nothing major with the engine.

Well where I am moving in about 5months there will be no more testing. Can't wait.... But it does feel good to know my rover passes one of the worst states when it comes to smog.
