Default CB Radio Help

I have been trying to no avail to hook up my CB radio up, I know it seems relatively simple; ground, and connect to a power source. I've tried inserting the power cord directly into the fuse box with no luck, and the wire that I have is not long enough to run directly to the battery. Here are some pics, do I have to put power wire into a particular fuse or does that matter? I'm getting driven crazy going over this.

Option 1:
Run a hot and ground through the large grommet in the firewall on the drivers side and straight to the battery. This will be the cleanest source of power, but the CB will need to be turned off separately from the ignition.

Option 2:
Use one of these for your hot, and put it in a switched fuse spot.

Put a ring terminal on the ground wire and run it to some piece of metal in the drivers side footwell. Find a stock bolt to secure it.

Default Done

Thanks! I ended up going through the firewall, splicing another wire, and going straight to the battery.
