Hi , just bought my first rover 01 disco 11. My door locks won't stay locked, they just pop right back up. My guess is the inertia switch. can someone help

 

please help wife wan'ts to bring it to the shop, but I think I can stall her and order a new switch on ebay if someone can confirm solution.

 

You can't lock the doors manually when any door is open. You have to use the remote. If the doors are closed you can lock them manually. I do not think its the intera switch at all. Do they lock w/ the remote?

The doors lock with remote and manualy, but imediatley unlock. I have tried everything including reseting switch which was in up position. After I reset switch I was getting a beep when I activated remote lock, that I wasn't getting before I reset inertia switch. I than unplugged switch and still got the same results which is leading me to believe that the switch is junk.

Does the car run ? If so, not the switch. When locking the horn blows once ? Do all door sill buttons go down ? then up ?

 

yes,the buttuns fgo down then up whether you use the remote or the switch on dash.

 

Hmm... Never seen that on a D2. If all doors ( 5 ) are closed it should not beep and unlock. It is thinking there is an open door. Could be a bad latch or wiring issue.

The locks worked fine, until I activated the child safety latch on the rear pasenger side door. Im thinking that may of somehow created the problem.
