Default Excessive wear of tires 2010 LR4

I have a 2010 LR4 with fewer than 25k. The factory installed (pirelli) tires are showing excessive wear on the outer portion. I spoke with the service manager and they stated this is normal. I spoke with Pirelli and they said that factory installed tires are not warrantied.
Question: Can an adjustment be made to make the tires right flush without voided the warranty of the vehicle?
Is this the setting for a Rover that may typically see off road that could /should be adjusted for US highways?
Most of my driving is highway/town with occasional snow.

Hi,

How close to 25K do you have? I am assuming that with the Pirelli's you must have the 20" rims. From my perspective, 25K miles is great for a 5,800 lb SUV. I have the 19" rims and the Continental Contact 4x4 and am just shy of 15,000 miles. These tires will be due for replacement within the next 3K - 5K miles. If you look at the UTQG ratings for your pirellis, the treadwear rating is 400. For the 19" Continentals, that number is 360. The lower the number, the fewer miles your tires will get. The Pirelli's are only warrantied for workmanship, not mileage, so they will not cover replacement unless the tire is defective. I would assume all your tires are wearing on the outer edge. You may want to look at the inner side of the tire as well, due to the camber of the vehicles, you are likely getting more wear on the inner edge. This is normal due to the suspension setting and vehicle weight. The edge wear will be more pronounced if you drive a lot of curvy roads due to the transfer of weight/load through the turns.

Prior to purchasing my LR4, I asked the dealership and they approximated 20K - 25K miles for tires.

What do you mean by "right flush?" Did you ever rotate your tires? Most dealerships will do so, but you have to press them hard to do it. Typically, they need to denote something on the service slip like "vibration or noise coming from tires", then they can rotate them. Another very important item usually overlooked is check your tire pressure. You should do this at least once per month, but ideally every few weeks. Some of the other posts on this forum indicate a 1 - 2 psi loss in a month and if the weather is cold, you can see an even greater pressure reduction. This is all normal.

You may want to consider a different brand of tire with a mileage warranty next time around. If you are concerned about mileage, look strongly at the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza. It comes with a 65,000 mile warranty. I still would not expect to get 65,000 miles and note that the warranty will only give you a prorated credit toward your next set of Bridgestone tires. The warranty will only be valid with frequent and documented rotations along with an alignment at/around the time of tire purchase.

Rgds,

Default Thanks for the response

Thanks for the response. Yes I have the 20" rims and I assume when they serviced my Rover they rotated the tires as requested.
I was wondering if the tire can be adjusted to "ride flush" (flat to the surface as apposed to what looks like they are riding on the outer edges.
My husband has Bridgestone Duelers on his 4x4 truck at 80+k with rotation every 10k and they still look better than my pirellis.
Also recommended are Open Country TOYO tires.

I'm just trying to prevent going through tires like gas!!!!
We do enjoy our Rover!!
