Fog lights in 2003 Disco S
Hi
My Disco originally did not have fog lights. Just recently I acquired 99 Disco 2 as a parts donor. That's being said I moved the relay (nr.12 in a fuse box) and the fog light switch to the 03. I'm planning to hook it up to 7" hid driving lights. However as of now when I turn it on the switch will not lit. Is it normal that when the light is not connected, the circuit is not closed so the switch will not activate? Or there is something else to it. I will greatly appreciate any suggestions or advises. Thank you in advance. |
Probably have to enable the fogs in the BCU.

sounds about right, I dont think the S model came with fog lights
|
Mine didn't. I added them later.
|
Nope it did not. I'm just trying to use existing wiring to hook up the hid's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but enabling BCU means trip to a dealer what means big money out of my pocket?
Are there any other options to use existing wiring? Thank you |
Where do you live? There are people out there that can do change the settings, I can. And any independent shop that specializes in Land Rovers should be able to do it too.

It's just a setting in the software. My guess is most shops would charge .5 to 1 hour of labor.

just an idea. I have 99 disco 2 which I'm parting out. Do you think I could just switch bcu?
|
Nope. The security system is built into it. Engine won't run, your odometer will flash, and your remotes will stop working. Then you'd need to tow it to the shop to have the computer hooked up.
