Took the 2000 Series II in today - they found a pully on the engine going bad... that was the whining noise. I'm having both pullys replaced to preclude a near-term repeat.

They did the U-Joint rebuild, but get this - all three U-Joints they removed had Zerc fittings! Could it be that the dealer replaced these when they replaced my Transfer Case? (went out at 40k miles)??? Doesn't seem like something a dealer would do....

Anyway, took care of a couple other nuisance problems and I'm back on the road... no more worries about that whine!
