Default Fuel pump?

Please help with my 03 Disco II with only 40,000 mi. Stopped at the pumps and filled up then would not start. Pushed it out of the way, waited 30 min. and it started, got it home about 10 min. away and it died. Now when it is cool it will start and run for 10 min. or so then dies. wont start again till it cools. I can do this all day. Thanks.

95% odds you have a crank sensor failing which will, when failing and warm, not turn on the fuel pump.
THE PART IT AROUND $70 AND A HOUR LABOR.

Thanks, Disco Mike. Let me tell you what I have found so far. I have accessed the fuel pump through the cargo access panel, disconnected the fuel line, turned key and it pumped fuel, reconnected and it started ran for 10 min. and stalled, disconnected again, turned key and no fuel would pump. till it cooled off again in about 30 min. No service engine light, throwing no codes. where can I find the crank sensor. thanks, Disco Chelsea.

The crankshaft sensor is on the left (driver's side in the US) side of the engine at the very back where the engine bolts to the transmission. The sensor itself is covered by a shield. Get underneath the vehicle, follow the engine back to the transmission and look up. The shield is about 1.5-2" in diameter with the wiring harness coming out of it.

Wouldn't a bad crankshaft sensor throw a code? Already ordered a fuel pump from Atlantic Land Rover $400+ with gasket, I will have it Tue. Need to figure this out before I do the wrong thing so I can return it and get the right part. Thanks.

There are 3 codes for a bad crank sensor but the ECU rarely throws them for that issue.
Put the crank sensor in, they are a high failure part and yours fits.

Before i buy this crankshaft sensor is there two fuel pumps located on this vehicle i was wondering about this high pressure fuel pump on the gas line on the motor. I'm not sure if that's what that is but i was wondering if my fuel pump could be pushing gas against this and not coming through it all the time and cutting the pump off. thanks.

Just one fuel pump on these, in the tank. Runs when cold, dies and doesn't start hot = crankshaft sensor 95% of the time.

i have already removed the crankshaft sensor, it was a pain in the a$$. Now is there a cross reference for this or do i have to order this part through land rover. Bosch 0 261 210 158 288 18. P.s. the part looks extremely clean any way to test this to see if the parts is good or not.
