To start, the price should be $400 and not $1400. With those miles this thing is well past its prime (i.e. needing major engine work). If you are hell bent on buying this (or ANY Rover), FIRST find an Indy Shop that works on Rovers to do a complete inspection. Providing the shop knows what they are doing, it will be the best money you've ever spent.

I'm not trying to discourage you from buying a Rover, but just remember The Cheapest is NOT the Least Expensive in the long run! We've all been there and got bit in the a$$ at one time or another. Good Luck!

I hope you are good with a wrench if you are looking at an older rover. That being said, I love mine. Check my signature line for what I've all had to do to mine over the past couple years of ownership. Paid $1200 for mine (probably too much) and have about $1700 into it now (that is if you don't count the zillions of hours I have invested into fixing things on it). One of the best parts of owning a rover is this forum. I've never had more help on a forum than I have on this one. There is a wealth of info in these posts and in the good people that will respond to any and all questions you may have.
