Cool Help the new kid, 3 amigos

Alright guys, I finally joined a forum, owned the 99 Disco II for about a year. Really love the truck, hate the 3 amigos. Do I have to go to a dealership to have the codes read and cleared?

No, most aftermarket shops should be able to read the abs faults if they have a decent scanner.

Most shops can read general codes with an obd but very few shops have an abs scanner which is different.Check out Hilltoppersx he has an abs amigo he rents. You can plug it into your truck then into your pc read the codes then clear them.

Default Thanks

Thanks guys, work in a general shop, I can read the codes here with obd II, but dont have abs specific reader. How do I get in touch with Hilltoppersx? Also, does anyone know specifically where the sunroof drain tubes empty, I need to blow them out? Again, Thanks

Default same issues now fixed...

Had the 3 Amigos on my 01 SE Discovery and faults showed up as the ABS modulator electrical fault. See what your faults are, but from what I have heard it could more than likely the same thing.
Replacing the modulator was the only fix. Everyone I talked to said to just buy a new one because all the rebuild kits were not fixing the problem...found a new one on Ebay for $500 and say 200 for the installation and no more lights!!! Been perfect for 2 months now. Can feel the traction control and ABS working perfectly! wooohooo
I had even bought a modulator from a wrecked Discovery here in Denver the guy said was fine (no 3 amigos) and then decided to go with the brand new one when I saw it online.
I HATE dash lights... I feel for you!
Still have the modulator if anyone in or around Denver needs one
Good luck

Before you do anything, are your brakes squeaking, "AT ALL"?
Go do a panic stop from 30 MPH plus on a loose surface and see if you feel/hear the ABS pulsate thru the brake pedal.
How mechanical are you?
