I'm currently in the market. Test drove a few and pretty much have made up my mind on a 2004 model Discovery. I seek the info because i have also read that a few members here have experienced issues with faulty pumps in thier 2004 DII. I would just like to eliminate any doubt on the PO ability to maintain a vehicle and change the pump.

As for mechanical inclination, i majored in ME but went to IE for the easy $$ or else i would've stayed. One thing holding me back would be special need tools...

The 03 issue has not carried over to the 04 with the exception of normal oil pumps failing based on a weird set of stats.
If you are going to get to **** over this purchase, back off and look in other areas of the market so you will be able to sleep well.

I understand the situation has not carried over to the 04' models I'm well aware of the TSB and all trucks affected. I just wanted to read the write-up.

Ok, With that being clear where can i find the info on how to change the oil pumps on the 4.0L Disco II.

I really don't see where you are coming from with this question? Why are you worrying about something that will never need to be done?
Go down load a Rave CD.

How much are they asking for it, remember the prices are really dropping.
