Inlet Plenum Breather Hose fitting

Inlet Plenum Breather Hose fitting
Hey,
So I broke the breather hose fitting that comes out if the inlet plenum (upper manifold) on my '04 Disco 2 and as usual it broke flush, the threaded piece that stayed in is supper jammed and I have only been able to take half of it out...
1) does anyone know an easy way to get that out without damaging the plenum block? I tried using a heat gun but everytime the plastic sort of melted, it feels like it just got bonded to the aluminum thred
2) while taking the bottom half of the fitting off, some plastic shavings (pieces) fell inside of the plenum.. If I manage to take out the upper part of the broken fitting, is it safe to drive with those few pieces that fell in? Or would that cause serious damage?
Please help!
